About The Audi Q9

The all-new flagship of the Audi SUV fleet, the Q9 is a full-size, three-row SUV with unbeatable luxury and performance. It is also easily the most technologically advanced vehicle you can buy. Under the hood is a twin-turbo V6 that provides enough power to make even driving such a large vehicle feel effortless. Standard all-wheel drive and air suspension make the Q9 feel composed in any conditions, and the cabin is both spacious and refined. There is extensive use of advanced technology all over the Q9, from the suspension to the stereo. Audi has been the leader in exterior lighting for some time, and the Q9 takes this idea even further, with headlights, taillights, and even turn signals that are more advanced than anything found on any other vehicle in the world.

What The Critics Say

“The third row uses the Q9's longer wheelbase to put the Q7 to shame. I'm a bit over 6 feet tall, and when the first and second rows were adjusted for my comfort, I could still get into the third row. When the second row is scooched a bit forward, there's enough room for at least a crosstown trip.” - Edmunds

“The Q9's interior is accessed via power-opening doors, which open to a front seating area that's spacious and decked out in premium materials including wood trim and alpaca wool textiles.” - Car & Driver

What’s New For 2027

2027 is the first year for the Q9, and Audi has never built anything quite like it before. It shares a platform with the Q7, but is a full-size model, while the Q7 is midsize. So it’s bigger, as well as better equipped, and Audi has given it even more advanced technology.

Audi Q9 Features

Audi Q9

Advanced Drivetrain

The Q9 is powered by the newest and most advanced gasoline engine from Audi, a 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 that makes 429 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. That’s a lot of power, and even though the Q9 is the largest model in the Audi lineup, it can go from 0-60 in just 4.9 seconds. Power is sent through an 8-speed Tiptronic® transmission, an especially durable example that allows for a 7,700-pound towing capacity for the Q9. Audi delivers the flagship-level driving experience the Q9 demands thanks to standard quattro® all-wheel drive and adaptive air suspension, maximizing traction, handling, and comfort all at the same time. And with all that power, Audi had to give the Q9 some impressive stopping power, which is why it comes with huge 15.7-inch front rotors with six-piston fixed calipers.

Audi Q9 Interior

Luxury Interior

The Q9 shares a platform with the Q7, but is considerably larger. The Q9 has the most spacious interior of any Audi model, complete with the biggest panoramic sunroof ever fitted to any Audi model, and a massive 87.7 cubic feet of maximum cargo space. All that space is well-appointed too. Leather upholstery is standard, upgradable to Nappa leather. The Q9 is offered with power doors too, which can be operated by pulling the handle, pushing a button in the cabin, from the touchscreen, or via smartphone app. Four-zone climate control is standard, and can be upgraded to five-zone. And to further help in keeping everyone comfortable, the Q9 is one of the only vehicles on the market to offer heated seats for all three rows. The windows are dual-pane acoustic glass, making for a remarkably quiet interior. This is good, because the standard Bang & Olufsen® stereo is an impressive system and is upgradable with headrest speakers and a new “seat beat” feature.

Audi Q9 Dashboard

Cutting Edge Technology

The motto of the Audi brand is Vorsprung durch Technik (Progress Through Technology), so for a flagship model like the Q9, it was clearly important for it to be a technological powerhouse. Some of this takes the form of standard equipment that is optional on competing models, things like adaptive cruise control with lane departure warning, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera. That’s not enough to be the technology leader, though. So Audi also offers tech that isn’t available on competitors at all, starting with the world’s only curved OLED panel taillights. The Digital Matrix LED headlights are just as advanced, with adaptive high beams that can dim specific areas individually, so you get maximum illumination without blinding other drivers. The Q9 and its smaller sibling, the Q7, are also the first vehicles in the world to get advanced turn signals, which give you the usual animated LEDs, but also project arrows onto the ground next to the vehicle. And for the ultimate in relaxation, the Q9 is offered with a hands-free mode for select roads.
